These are a beautiful option, however, there are a few problems. The main issue with this is that weeds can show through, making your border look messier.

Another option is potted. This is a great choice as it is super easy to change the flowers around. You can also move these pots around easier if you are not fully set on a layout design. Pots are however much bulkier and can take up more room.
