Caring For Hedgehogs This Winter
Most hedgehogs will be hibernating through the winter months, but there are a few that will risk living through the winter months. Some of these may be seeking home in your garden. In this article, we are going to share with you some tips for caring for these precious animals.
One of the best things you can do for hedgehogs within your garden is put out daily offerings of food and water. Freshwater will be best for them every day. As well as some form of a meaty dog or cat food in the evening.
When you notice hedgehogs in your garden you should also help provide them with a home. This can be homemade or one store brought. But place this in a quiet part of your garden to keep them warm and safe.
Finally, keep an eye on your new hedgehog friends. Look out for any signs of injuries such as limping, or cuts on obvious parts of their bodies. If you notice anything take them to your nearest vets that care for hedgehogs.
